In collaboration with the Riverboat Jazz Festival in Silkeborg, we have developed a new collection system for the well-known plastic mugs, which are used in big scale at concerts across the country. The new product ensures correct recycling of used plastic cups. The design of the new plastic mug collector is close to our Letbek Danpæl.
The plastic mug collector consists of a black plastic tube made of recycled plastic, placed on a base of Letbek Danpæl and Letbek Danfod. In this way, the plastic collector can stand stably and be placed strategically at e.g. a concert venue. The solution is both functional and space-saving, which makes it ideal for big events.
The pipe can hold 115 plastic cups, which makes it possible to collect a significant amount of waste without taking up much space. This ensures plastic cups to be collected for recycling – easily and efficiently.
The premiere showed good results
The newly developed plastic cup collectors have performed well at the jazz festival held in June 2024. Five 660 liter containers were placed at the festival and the result was impressive:
- 125 kg of plastic was collected – equivalent to almost 2.5 times the amount of plastic an average Danish household throws away in a year!
- The waste was neatly packed and stacked, maximizing weight and minimizing volume.
Our plastic mug collector ensures that the plastic waste is properly treated and recycled.
